Welcome New Patients

All patients new to Mountain Sky Dental should start their journey towards enhanced oral wellness here.

At Mountain Sky Dental, we truly believe that it is important to know your goals for your oral health before we ever begin to recommend any type of treatment. To establish those goals, Dr. Schluentz likes to sit down with you for an interview to see what your goals are, what you have had in the past in regards to dental care, what you would like in the future, and to explain about our practice philosophy.  After this initial interview, and with your permission, Dr. Schluentz will perform a comprehensive examination to establish your level of dental health.  After this initial exam, Dr. Schluentz will then invite you back to review all of his findings and then co-create a plan that will help you obtain your dental goals.  Dr. Schluentz feels that the only way to work together to achieve the results you want, is to create a plan that will address your needs and goals.  The first appointment usually will last around 90 minutes.

Mountain Sky Dental Believes in 3 Core Principals:

  1. Patients want the least amount of dentistry in their life time, not the most.
  2. Patients want freedom in relation to their dental health.
  3. When patients are giving the proper information in the right environment, they will make the best choices for their health.

Welcome Reception

Our office environment is structured around these 3 principles. We strive to be a true “learning” environment for our patients. What does this mean in a dental office? It means offering a quiet and relaxed atmosphere where every patient is indeed an individual. We also believe that patients have a right to know more about their oral health and how that impacts their overall health. And by educating patients on the causes of dental disease, the patient has the opportunity to stop the disease cycle.

Consultation Area

We have a Consultation Area spacious enough for both patients and family members. Many times, patients would like to bring others with them to help them in the decision making process. We highly encourage that and I designed a comfortable private area so that this can happen. When you are welcomed into our practice as a new patient, we sit in this consult area to discuss where you have been and where you would like to go in regards to your dental health.

Treatment Room

We use state-of the-art dental equipment for our procedures and believe that every piece of equipment has a specific purpose that is designed to get you healthier.
We offer complimentary consultation for patients who would like to learn more about their dental health. This offer extends not just to existing patients but potential new patients as well. If you are interested in a complimentary thirty minute consultation, contact us and we will be happy to schedule that for you.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Any x-rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).

X-RAYS
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional x-rays are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.

SCHEDULING: We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you have pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day. We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. Due to the fact Dr. Schluentz provides many types of dental services, various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a procedure. Emergency cases can also arise and cause delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
